Students who work full time and attend school full time would benefit from Work Experience in more ways than you realize! Approximately 10,000 students attend College of The Desert and only about 125 students participate in Work Experience each semester.
Work Experience is a unique program because students can receive college credit while getting a paycheck.

Creative writing students from Professor Amy Dibello's English 005 class will share their poetry and fiction in a public reading on Wednesday, May 14.
The event will be held in the Pollock Theater at 12:30 p.m. and will end by 2:00 p.m. The reading is a part of the College of the Desert Forum Series.

Mark Almy, music and voice professor at College of the Desert, signed up for acting classes in his sophomore year of high school, because he thought, "if you took drama, what you did is talk about movies for an hour."
From that point on, Almy was handed scripts and struck with the acting bug.

On April 24, College of the Desert's Gay-Straight Alliance Club held a day of remembrance for Gwen "Amber Rose" Araujo, who was savagely beaten and murdered in 2002 in El Dorado County in California by four men after they discovered that she was a transgender.

Price was chosen as our "spotlight staff member" because of her dedication to her students and the positive attitude she displays on campus each and every day. Price primarily helps veterans and other students with their school scheduling and career decisions.
