Normally, if you wanted a burger like this, you'd have to go to Denny's, then leave the leftovers in your fridge for three days. COD Cafe offers the same quality in mere minutes. Photo by Tom Connors.
Bacon double-cheeseburger combo: $10. Rolaids: fifty cents. School-sponsored monopolies: Priceless.

Okay, time to get something off my chest. The COD cafe is just begging for an overhaul.
I've been going to COD for a few years now and have been coming to the cafe several times a week for lunch, drinks, and snacks. I speak on behalf of many students when I say that the cafe's food is seriously overpriced and that the food leaves much to be desired.
For example, the cafe's "combo" is a burger (well, a more-or-less burgeresque object, anyway), fries, and a small drink (with no refills). It costs $5.75.
They need to lower the price of food. They also need to accept debit and credit cards for students who don't carry cash. Having to use the ATM machine outside the cafeteria adds more than a dollar extra to the cost of dining at COD. Another option would be to arrange a discount card program with local restaurants. Food is just as expensive off campus, but at least you get your money's worth. When lunch sets me back seven or eight bucks, I'm thinking Quiznos, not AMPM! Offer some decent food for a reasonable price.
